Falukorv(Falun Sausage) is a sausage containing the basic ingredients meat, fat, potato flour, onions, salt and spices;  It is a type of brackish sausage.  Falukorv is considered a typical Swedish product and is included in many dishes in Swedish cuisine and has been name protected since 1973.Main meats are: at least 45% beef,and pork. However, many Falukorv(Falun Sausage) contain higher meat content than that The term 'amount of meat' also includes the natural content of fat and water of meat. The Swedish National Food Agency's rules determine what amount may be made up of connective tissue, such as tendons. The fat content of pork and beef shall not exceed a certain percentage.
Traditionally, the falukorv is in a horseshoe shape. It is a natural result of the use of natural intestines. The majority of consumers prefer the horseshoe shapped one.
